Depression Therapy

One to one help for depression is often a positive help. There are many different approaches. The most common being

Counselling

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy CBT

Hypnosis

NLP

At Designing Change we use a combination of Neuro Linguistic Programming and Hypnosis. This will involve 4 to 12 sessions directed by your own personal experiences.

Hypnosis has many applications from simple phobia cures through smoking and the change in patterns of behaviour. All treatments follow a similar pattern.

The first session involves a discussion re the clients concern and then the structuring of some form of intervention. Often clients are lead to uncover and release past limiting beliefs traumas and other repressed or hidden emotions We all tend to carry these with us through life but for some people they can be hidden and at times debilitating.

In some cases this will either lead to more understanding of past experiences. Or you may go on to be taught new patterns of behaviour.

Some of this personal work will be carried out in trance. Trance is a shift in concious awareness where the client enters a relaxed state of mind and body. The client is not in anyway “out of it” but remains in a state of awareness but has the ability to enter other levels of conciousness and thereby effect changes.

NLP - Neuro-Linguistic-Programming uses many techniques taken from hypnosis without any formal trance work. Other techniques are cognitive challenges to current ways of thinking. Much work is carried out by challenging set belief patterns and helping to change them.

One to One counselling for depression has proved to be effective and works over several sessions. Counselling works by throwing the client into the mess they are in and helping them to focus on ways to get out of it, guided by the counsellor.

CBT is relatively new and works by encouraging the client to focus upon the way in which they are running their brain. Then training the person to make changes as to how they run their thinking. It appears very positive.
